Asia Pacific Register of Shipping., known as (APSR) was established in 2006 in London, UK; its international technical office is based in London and with authorized surveyors worldwide. As an independent, non-governmental, ship’s International Classification Society, the AP Class is dedicated to provide classification and statutory certification services to ships and other marine structures, with the objective of safeguarding life, property and the environment. Service Quality Concentrating on quality in all our services, we together with the strict formulation of the rules and regulations have reached the acceptance of AP Class by the shipping communities as a reputable classification society.

Through our well qualified staff, AP Class. provides effective services with the minimum expenses to various professional operations, ensuring the confirmation of all our services with the international rules and regulations. Activities The activities of AP Class (APSR) include the application of Ruless & Regulations, Standards and Guidelines for the design, construction and operational maintenance of ships and marine related structures and the subsequent verification of these Standards.

These activities encompass:

  • Classification services for ships, offshore installations and related industrial products (including containers): development and maintenance of rules, plan approval, surveys and certification;
  • Statutory services for ships, offshore installations and related industrial products, when so authorized: development of technical regulations for statutory surveys, plan approval, surveys and certification;
  • Surveys and certification delegated by other ship survey organizations, surveys related to notarial matters and safety assessment as well as verification surveys and certification of ships and offshore installations , and investigation of major maritime safety accidents;
  • Verification, surveys and certification of related industrial facilities and products used on land, and surveys and certification delegated by foreign ship survey organizations for marine facilities and products as well as related industrial facilities and products used on land;
  • ISM audit and certification;
  • ISPS audit and certification;
  • Survey and assessment of ship’s technical conditions;
  • Certification of quality management systems and environmental management systems in accordance with ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 series standards;
  • Technical research for classification of ships and offshore installations, safety on waters and environmental protection, survey of marine facilities and products as well as related industrial facilities and products used on land, and research on the application of information technology;
  • Other services.
